Games for Palm
Folder
The games in this folder are certainly educational but don't connect to an exact curriculum area. The games involve problem solving and inventive thinking. I give these games out often as a reward, but also for an activity when students are done with their work. However, I recommend deleting games off the students' Palms weekly. It keeps the games fresh and the keeps the students from spending too much time with one game.

Autopond
Autopond is an infrared card trading game. Great for a large group of students.
Center Four
The goal of the game is to move four block pieces to the center square. Simple to play but challenging to win!
Code Cracker
A game like MasterMind, but with numbers instead of colors.
Coconut Fern
Palm version of the classic Connect Four game for one or two players.
Fences
Fences is a game for two players. Each player takes turns connecting pairs of dots in his pattern (black or gray) in an attempt to build a line from a side of the board to the other in same pattern. Dots cannot be connected through the opposing player's fence.
Grouper
Puzzle-card game played by finding groups in a set of cards. You look for matches that are completely different!
Hexplode
Two player strategy game played on a grid of hexagons. This is one of my personal favorite Palm games!
Jumpwire
Fast paced puzzle game where you have to connect the postive and negative blocks together by rotating the wire segments.
Lights Out
The object is to turn off all the lights; not so easy since when you turn one light on or off, the surrounding lights also switch states.
Logic Game
This is a two player game where players move "L" shaped pieces and balls into a position so the other player cannot move. This is great for students to write an expository paragraph about their game strategy.
Marbles Squared
The aim of the game is to clear all of the blocks on the grid by tapping and removing block ''sets''. Students can test and share strategies.
Memorix
Memorix is like the game of Memory, only with a single player. The player tried to match all tiles before the time runs out!
Minefield
Puzzle game where you must flag the mines to win the game.
MyGuess
Try to guess a random number selected within the given range in the fewest amount of tries.
PalmLinez
The purpose of the game is to build up a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line consisting of five or more one-style balls.
PalmSimon
PalmSimon plays a pattern with lights and sounds that you try to repeat.
Parking Lot
Get your car out of a crowded parking lot by moving your car as well as other cars and trucks as needed. This game certainly takes spatial intelligence and inventive thinking!
Pilotski
The object of the game is to maneuver the red block to its destination in the fewest number of moves.
Pionmor
Each turn, you place a barrier and a coin. If you close a cell containing an adverse coin, it vanishes and you make 1 point. Each time you align 5 coins, you make 5 points. Play against the computer, a friend, or beam between handhelds.
PocketCity
A free version of SimCity for your handheld. Attract people to your city, collect taxes, and rebuild after disasters.
Quads and Quazars
The object of the game is to complete a square using four pieces. Includes one or two player modes.
Reflax
Test your mind and hand reflexes as you try to match the color a word spells with one of four colorful circles. It's harder than you think because of the Stroop Effect.
SameGame
The object of the game is to remove as many tiles as possible and removing tiles in the largest possible groups. The larger the group of tiles removed, the higher your score!
Shuffle
The goal of Shuffle is to press the switch buttons until the cells are arranged in order.
SimonSayz
A simple, musical memory game. The game starts with one note and continues until you make a mistake.
Sudoku
Place digits 1-9 on a grid so that each row, column, or 3 x 3 section contains exactly the numbers 1-9. Read more about Sudoku in my blog.
Summing
Mathematical tile game to practice adding numbers. Get instructions here or listen to Soft Reset #9.
Tetravex
Drag the tiles into the top left area so that any two adjacent numbers are the same.
TicTacTough
TicTacTough is a version of Tic-Tac-Toe. The program also keeps a list of statistics as you play. It keeps track of games won, lost and drawn, as well as percentages. Great for teaching ratios to students.
Vexed
Vexed is a challenging puzzle game. The object of the game is to clear all of the tiles from each level in the least number of moves. Tiles with the same markings must be placed next to or on top of each other in order to be cleared from the board. The tiles follow the rules of gravity. Read the help menu in Vexed for more instructions and tips.
XrOw
Place five pieces in a row in a 16 x 16 grid. This is quite a challenging game!
