Teacher Palm Software
Folder

BeamPro
Beam more than one file at a time. Very helpful when setting up Palms for the first time. Shareware, free to try.
Filez
This application had many functions. Filez lets you see all applications, documents, and files on your Palm. I use it to beam "hidden" files.
HanDBase
Create custom databases. This is my favorite database application! Databases can be downloaded here. Download a HanDBase training document from ESU 14 here.
Mood Stats
Keep track of your daily mood. I use it to keep track of the classroom's behavior each day. Also, students keep track of their personal behavior by rating themselves anywhere from very sad to very happy. Mood Stats then graphs the information on a daily or month bar graph.
NamePick
Reads and displays a list of names or items from a memo and chooses once of them randomly when tapped. Great for calling on students. Requires you to install namepick.prc and CASLrt.prc.
Participate
Quickly and easily keep track of class participation.
PamuCounter
Two counters can be displayed on the screen at once. Tap + and - buttons to count up or down. There are actually 8 sets of counters that can be used simultatneously. All of the totals of the counters can be copied and pasted into an application like Memos. This is great for tracking a student's behavior or giving groups of students points.
PrizeWheel
This is a random number picker where the user can set a lower and an upper value. I use this for randomly choosing students. I have found it has other other uses in the classroom as well!
PPick
PPick is a random number generator where you can select an upper and lower limit and choose to generate up to 10 numbers at a time. Great for picking students or for making up random math problems.
PTally
PTally can be a replacement for mechanical counters. Each time you tap one of seven customizable buttons, it adds or subtracts from the count for that button. This is very useful for tallying student behaviors or participation.
Snap
Snap is free software for taking screenshots of a handheld's screen. Great for creating software walk-throughs, worksheets, and slide shows that include screenshots of a Palm application or the operating system. Palm OS 5, an expansion card, and a card reader are required. Open the Card > PALM > Programs > Snap to find your screenshots on your desktop computer.
Steps
Easily track a three step discipline program.
ThoughtManager
Outliner and information organizer with many education templates. You need the $29.99 registered version for the teacher but students can use the free ThoughtManager Reader.
